Stretched X: longer motor spacing, different trade-offs.
A stretched X drone frame has more front-to-rear motor spacing than left-to-right spacing. It changes packaging and the relative roll and pitch geometry; it does not by itself guarantee more speed, stability or flight time.
| Typical width | 140–150 mm |
|---|---|
| Typical length | 180–186 mm |
| Feel | Stable pitch |
True X uses equal spacing on both axes. Stretched X lengthens the front-to-rear axis, changing inertia and component space. Actual handling still depends on mass distribution, propulsion and tuning.
Longer spacing can help packaging, but unlike a deadcat it does not specifically widen the forward camera gap. Check the real camera field of view and propeller clearance.
Explore it for racing, chase or mapping concepts when the hardware layout benefits. The preview is not a flight-performance test; every build requires engineering review.
How stretched can it be?
Length is capped at 186 mm in this configurator to stay inside the print envelope.
Does stretched X fly longer than true X?
Not automatically. Battery energy, total mass, propulsion efficiency and conditions determine endurance, not the frame name.
